A DOZEN REASONS WHY WE SHOULD VOTE 'LEAVE' ON JUNE 23RD.

1) The European Union is an undemocratic institution

One delegate from each member country is sent to Brussels to form the EU Commission. They are chosen by their governments, not by their electorate, and it is those 28 people who decide upon the issues to be raised, and eventually to be voted on by the MEPs.

(And oddly, all of those 28 delegates are failed politicians in their own countries. Over the years, these largely anonymous has-beens have straightened our cucumbers, tried to straighten our bananas, tried to ban our cheese & onion crisps, and changed our lightbulbs. What's next on their 'Important Jobs To Do' list - square tomatoes? Probably ! )

2) We pay £350,0000 to the EU every week

. . . and we get just £175,0000 back. The rest goes into a kitty to be distributed to poorer members of the EU.

(That's £350,0000 per week we could be spending on the National Health, or a better education for our children !)

3) Waste of money

Most big companies and organisations have a fraud/waste of money deficit. The UK Government's is 0.2%, The European Union's is 2.00% - ten times as much !

Just one example: The EU Parliament is based in Brussels, yet for one week every month they up-sticks and take the six-hour train journey to Strasbourg, where the EU Commission resides. Not just the 600 MEPs, but their secretaries and admin. staff. Not to mention all their paperwork and files which are loaded into huge cases and loaded onto the train with them!

They are all then housed in Strasbourg for a week.

So every one of those 600 MEPs, and their staff, has two offices, two computers, and two places to lay their weary little heads.

(And you can bet your sweet life that their accommodation isn't some modest B & B in a Strasbourg backstreet!)

And after a week of voting (if there is any) the whole shabang is loaded back onto the train for the six-hour journey back to Brussels.

27 of the 28 member states want this stupidity to stop. But it was part of the treaty of the EU (or Common Market, as it was then) and the only country that agrees with this debacle is France. And because it was part of the treaty, it can't be changed!

(How mad is that? And what is this madness costing the EU? £70 million pounds per year, that's what !)

4) The European Union Monetary Audits

There is a claim that EU accounts have not been properly audited for 20 years. This is not strictly true. Since 1977, the EU budget has been audited annually by the European Court of Auditors, based in Luxembourg, and funded by the EU itself. From 2002, there was a change in accounting procedures, with the budget being split into two sections - the part to which they were willing to give a clean bill of health, and the part to which they were not. The Auditors refer to this second part as their "Opinion on the underlying payments which have been negative or adverse." (What does this mean?)

Since 2002, four Chief Accountants - whistle-blowers - who raised concerns over the EU accounts, have been sacked, sent on sick-leave, or transferred to other departments. The reason being that they "failed to show sufficient loyalty and respect".

In 2015, the total amount of EU expenditure not signed off was 4.75% of the EU budget. And in the Court of Auditors own words, "The £109 billion refers to the spending areas for which our audit work shows a material error rate." (What does this actually mean?)

(4.75% doesn't sound too much does it? But that's £4.75 in every £100 ! And £109 BILLION sounds an awful lot of unaccounted-for, lost money to me!)

5) Potential Members of the European Union

The EU wants to bring on board Turkey, Albania, Serbia, Montenegro and Macedonia.

Theresa May, the Home Secretary, (bizarrely, a 'Remainer', in spite of her obvious doubts)

says that these countries have poor populations, and serious problems with organised crime, corruption and terrorism. Yet by 2020, the UK alone, will have given these aspiring Europhiles £1.2 billion to support their membership bids.

In addition, the UK will pay Turkey a further £640 million, as part of the EU-Turkey deal designed to facilitate Turkey's accession to the EU (despite a recent Pew Poll which shows that 8% of Turkish nationals support ISIS !) Added to which, 97% of Turkey's land mass is not in Europe, but in Asia!

The EU, as a whole, will be paying 17.7 billion euros to candidate countries to join the EU.

(WHY? Have you ever wanted to join a club which paid you to apply for membership?)

6) The European Court can override rulings by our own UK courts

Our own laws are no longer sacrosanct, and any court judgement can be overturned by the EU Court of Justice, as it sees fit.

(Recently, a convicted murderer in the UK was awarded £13,000 by the European Court, for contravention of his Human Rights ! Never mind the Human Rights of his victim ! Of course we must uphold people's Human Rights, but I don't want our taxpayers hard-earned money to go toward making a killer richer. This is just crazy ! )

7) The EU has been in secret talks with the USA since 2013

. . . and has set up the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP).

Talks are still ongoing, but it has been suggested that US businesses could make a bid for any EU company or organisation, and if refused, could sue that country's government for 'non-participation'. Put simply, that means that America could make a bid for ownership of our National Health Service.

(Sound good to you . . . ?)

8) MEPs are paid £78,000 per year

. . . plus £45,000 expenses, for which they don't have to show any receipts, or proof of expenditure.

(Blimey! Most employees have to submit a receipt for a packet of chocolate Hob-Nobs! But that £45 grand is theirs - a little bonus in their back pockets. Thank you very much ! )

They also have an European Union Pension scheme (and can retire at the age of 63) which pays 3.5% of their salary into their 'pension pot', and they don't have to add one penny to it. (Whereas, with most schemes, the employee has to actually join a pension scheme and pay a percentage of their salary into it, before an employer will add to it.)

When they stop being an MEP (for whatever reason) they are paid a 'transitional allowance' of £39,000.

(Don't think we'll see any of them voting to leave, do you? Except, perhaps, Nigel Farrage - and even he might not want to see himself out of a plum job like the one he has now . . . ? And after all, the voting will be confidential . . . ?)

9) Our UK Fishing Industry has been decimated by EU Regulations

The UK fishing fleet has been halved, thanks to EU rules that our fishermen are only allowed to fish two miles out from our shores, whilst other fishermen from Europe are allowed to fish in our waters.

(Fair enough . . . ? )

10) Animal Cruelty

Under EU regulations, despite protests from Animal Rights organisations and the public, we can't ban the inhumane slaughter of animals for Halal meat. Nor can we ban the cruel transportation of live animals.

(Two practices of which we, an animal-loving country, should be ashamed!)

11) The EU is planning an European Army

This will incorporate all the armies from the 28 member countries, and be under the control of the European Union.

(We already have NATO, which has served us well since the the second world war. We don't need a European fighting force ! Would you be happy with our Army, our Royal Air Force, our Royal Navy, being controlled by this inefficient, undemocratic, corrupt, self-serving, political organisation ? )

12) The EU is planning a Federal State of Europe

. . . which will mean that eventually we will lose our Sterling currency, and be forced to adopt the already failing Euro. And once this 'State of Europe' is formed our own Government will have no say in the way our own country is run. It will simply become a regional council of a federal state. The European Union will become our Government.

The United Kingdom - our Great Britain - will no longer exist. England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland will just be states of the United States of Europe. (U.S.E.)

(Does this sound impossible to you? Forty years ago, when we joined the Common Market, the European Union would have sounded just as implausible, but it's happened !)

FOOTNOTES:

Where are David Cameron's 'concessions', that he boasted about gaining a few months ago? There were six - but what were they . . . ? Who remembers ? And if they were so great, why isn't the 'Remain' camp shouting about them now?

(They're not shouting about them, because they meant nothing! And they still have to be 'negotiated' - which, plainly speaking, means he came back from Europe with Zilch!)

WHO SAID THAT ?

On the introduction of the Euro

"We decide on something, leave it lying around, and wait and see what happens. If no-one kicks up a fuss - because most people don't understand what has been decided - we continue, step by step, until there is no turning back."

On Greece's economic meltdown:

"When it becomes serious, you have to lie."

On EU Monetary Policy:

"I'm ready to be insulted as being insufficiently democratic, but I want to be serious. I am for secret, dark, debates."

On Loss of Sovereignty:

"Of course there will be transfers of sovereignty, but would I be intelligent to draw the attention of the public to this fact?"

(Can you guess? Jean-Claude Juncker, President of the European Commission - the boss, the honcho, the big cheese - that's who ! Does this sinister individual sound like a man of integrity to you? A man of honesty ? Decency ? Wisdom ? I wouldn't trust him to run me a bath, let alone run my life and the lives of my children and fellow-citizens ! And certainly not my COUNTRY ! )

THE EUROPEAN UNION IS FAILING - AND HAS BEEN FOR YEARS !

WE MUST GET OUT OF THIS MADNESS, BEFORE WE ARE SUCKED DOWN SO FAR THAT IT WILL TAKE A REVOLUTION TO SET US FREE !

THE LEAVE/STAY REFERENDUM ON JUNE 23RD, ISN'T ABOUT TRADE, INVESTMENTS, BUSINESS OR IMMIGRATION.

IT'S NOT JUST ABOUT YOUR JOB, YOUR WAGES, THE PRICE OF YOUR HOUSE, THE COST OF YOUR SHOPPING.

IT'S BIGGER THAN THAT !

IT'S ABOUT THE DEMOCRACY OF OUR OWN COUNTRY, AND THE RIGHT TO GOVERN OURSELVES. IT'S ABOUT THE FUTURE OF OUR CHILDREN, AND THEIR LIVES IN A FREE, FAIR AND JUST COUNTRY. IT'S ABOUT OUR HISTORY, OUR SOVEREIGNTY, OUR INDEPENDENCE, AND OUR RIGHT TO CHOOSE OUR OWN DESTINY.

IT'S ABOUT

GREAT BRITAIN

ALL THAT WE WERE, AND ARE, AND SHALL BE.

VOTE LEAVE !
