ABOUT ME

I am a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a sister, an auntie, a cousin, a friend.

An orphan.

A writer, a poet, a playwright.

A spiritual healer.

A believer, a doubter, a wise-woman, a fool.

I was born in Upper Norwood, London, where I lived and worked until I married.

As a playwright, I've been broadcast on BBB Radio 4, and one of my stageplays, 'BOB', was produced in Stratford-on-Avon, with members of the RSC, to great acclaim.

" A very entertaining play - tears and laughter in equal measure.  A cross between 'A Christmas Carol' and Kafka."   The Times Literary Supplement.

I was the founder of The Coventry Poetry Prize, which ran successfully for many years.

I have been writing poetry for so long it's become almost second nature to me.  I might be gardening, in the shower, out for a walk - or even asleep (!) and words just come to me.  These might be a title, or a line or two.  Or sometimes it's just an idea for a poem.  Events in my life spark me off too, but not all of my poems are personally inspired.

I've put some of my poems into a book,  'The Complete Poet'.  I've called it 'The Complete Poet' because I've interspersed the poems with details of what led me to write specific poems, together with recollections about my life.

I now live in Coventry with my husband and a once-stray ginger-tom, whom we named Pudding (Ginger Pudding!)  who somehow adopted us, settled in nicely, and is now here to stay.

I have two daughters, one living nearby, and the other - sadly for me - miles away in Fife.

I have three wonderful, precious,  grandchildren.

That's me, done!
